ORIENTATION & TRAINING

We encourage all faculty to read the eCampus Faculty Orientation handbook prior to teaching eCampus classes. If you have any questions or feel something is missing, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

Orientation for Faculty Who Will Be Teaching Online

If you will be teaching online at Boise State for the first time, please contact Kelley Brandt (208) 426-5962 as soon as you know about your plans to teach online to arrange an orientation. This meeting will provide information specific to teaching at a distance, including how to contact your students, access permission numbers, process administrative drops, etc. This mandatory meeting is conducted in person for those instructors living in or around Boise and by telephone or live chat for those living outside the area. To prepare for or review the orientation material, download the eCampus Faculty Orientation handbook. Instructors who are teaching for one of Boise State’s online degree programs do not need to complete the above orientation meeting because program supervisor will provide orientation materials.

Training for Faculty Who Will Be Teaching Online

If you have not taught online before—or if you have not had the opportunity to receive training in online methods and strategies—please take some time to look at the comprehensive professional development opportunities available for eCampus faculty through the eCampus Quality Instruction Program (eQIP). We strongly encourage faculty to take advantage of this program, and in many cases we provide incentives to compensate you for the time involved.
