Program Introduction
Boise State University is a member of the Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education Internet Course Exchange program WICHE ICE. This program expands student access to high-quality online courses taught at participating member institutions. All member institutions are regionally accredited and courses are approved Associated Presspropriate academic department prior to student registration.
All credits earned through the WICHE ICE program:
- Qualify for financial aid through Boise State
- Appear on your transcript as credits earned from Boise State
- Count towards your degree/program requirements at Boise State
Registration
WICHE ICE courses are designated as such in BroncoWeb. Registration and payment for these courses follow the same guidelines established for all Boise State courses. Registration deadlines are listed in BroncoWeb and may differ from other Boise State offerings. In some cases, special discounts and tuition waivers may not apply to a WICHE ICE course.
Delivery
This course is delivered online over the Internet and there are no in-person meeting requirements. The instructor may require a proctored exam and if so, will give you guidelines to follow. Course materials are provided through a course management system which may or may not be Blackboard.
Start/End Dates
Start and end dates for these courses may differ from other Boise State Offerings. It is your responsibility to review the course syllabus and know when the course begins and ends. The exact start/end dates are listed in BroncoWeb.
Course Access
The course instructor or a representative from the teaching institution will contact you prior to the start of the course with information regarding how to enter the course management system. If you do not receive an email by the start of the course, contact the eCampus Center at Boise State.
It is your responsibility to remember the unique username and password for this course. The Boise State Blackboard Help Desk may not be able to assist you with concerns. Keep a record of this information and who to contact at the teaching institution in case there is an issue.
Records
Data from your academic record at Boise State is shared with a limited number of university staff from the teaching institution through a secure database. This includes, but is not limited to, name, address, phone number, BSU e-mail address, and student ID. This data is used by the teaching institution to grant access to course material and by the course instructor to maintain a record of your performance on the assignments and activities of the course.
Course Grade
Evaluation of your performance and computation of your grade is the responsibility of the instructor at the teaching institution. The course instructor will submit the final grade earned in the course to the Boise State Registrar. The grade will be posted on your Boise State transcript and used in the calculation of your Boise State GPA.
Grade appeals for this course will be addressed to the course instructor first and then to the Boise State academic department sponsoring the course. Please note that the course grade used by the instructor may be translated to fit Boise State’s grading system (reference university catalog).
Agreement
As a Boise State student, you are responsible for adhering to established policies/procedures at Boise State as well as the teaching institution in the areas of academic integrity, course performance and behavioral standards. Information about Boise State policies/procedures are found in the catalog and student handbook. Information about the teaching institutions policies/procedures are provided by the instructor.
